Paddock Wood Community Advice Centre is a charity offering free advice, information and support to people living in Paddock Wood and the surrounding area.
Many problems do not go away, the sooner you ask, the sooner we can help. We aim to ensure that our clients leave our offices feeling aware of all options available to them and knowing how to access their preferred solution.

We offer face to face advice in our offices at 94 Commercial Road in Paddock Wood, TN12 6DP, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 1.30pm. We have private, ground floor, accessible rooms where we can discuss your concerns in confidence. We also offer advice via email (info@pwadvice.org) and phone calls (01892 838619) and/or you can fill out our Enquiry Form.

It is not safe to get legal advice from AI, here's why:
AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini , Co-pilot, and Claude do not check facts and they are not designed to say what is true or not true
AI summarises information it finds and it is extremely common for AI to confuse two similar areas of law or miss out something vital for you to understand
AI is designed to give positive and definitive answers, not correct ones
Always use a reputable information provider whose information is written by humans (who understand the problem, the law and the implications of the information they are giving) and checked by legal experts.
If you want to use an AI tool to help with a task, ask it to use the information from a reputable information provider (like Advicenow or Citizens Advice) to create its answer. Give it the url of the page. Check what it produces against the information before you use it.

Reporting changes in your circumstances when claiming benefits
You must report changes to your personal circumstances to the appropriate government department straight away or you risk ending up being under or overpaid, with any overpayments usually needing to be paid back.
